Here are some of the better ones that I have personally visited.
Overjoyed
A charming little store situated beside LASALLE College of the Arts, Overjoyed not only sells art materials but they also offer art classes.
The great thing about this shop is that it actually has an online catalogue that you can browse before hitting the physical shop. I always check the website before going there to purchase.
However, the shop does do door to door delivery for purchases over $150.
As to the physical store itself, the outside of the shop looks very upmarket which will probably make those of us on a budget tremble in fear. The service is not too bad either, with friendly and helpful staff who entertained my numerous questions and remained polite throughout when I went there for the first time.
Product-wise, this shop carries quite a few products from paintbrushes to colour pencils, and range in quality and prices from the high grade Swiss made caran d'ache to the more familiar Prismacolour.
Another thing to note: this shop carries open stock colour pencils as well. I personally like this one as it carries Koh-i-noor products which has some budget friendly items.
